The Change of Command Parade of the Aeronautical Engineering Support Wing (ASW) at SLAF Base Ratmalana was held yesterday (28 July 2021) at the Wing Premises.

The new Commanding Officer, Group Caption UCJ Piyasena USP, MSc (Elct Eng), BSc (ELECT & Math Sc), Pg Dip(HR), Pg Dip(IR), psc took over the command from Outgoing Commanding Officer, Group Caption S Witharana USP, BSc (Def Stu) Eng as the 6th Commanding Officer of the Wing.

Group Caption Piyasena held the appointment of Counsellor Defence at the Embassy of Sri Lanka in Moscow, Russia before taking over command of the Wing. Group Caption S Witharana will be proceed on leave prior to his retirement from the Sri Lanka Air Force on completion of more than 32 years of distinguished service to the nation and to the Sri Lanka Air Force in particular.
