NO. 03 SNIPER COURSE CONCLUDES AT AMPARA

The closing address and badges awarding ceremony of the No. 03 Sniper Course was held yesterday (31 JuIy 2021) at the Regiment Training College Ampara. The Commanding Officer of SLAF Station Ampara, Air Commodore GGWTK Gunawardana graced the occasion as the chief guest.
The qualified Marksmen had to go through a suitability test subjected to a theoretical and practical firing evaluation test to enrol in to the course. The No. 03 Sniper Course commenced on 10 May 2021 and concluded on 31 July 2021 having a total number of 17 participants underwent both theoretical and practical training on Marksmanship, Range estimating, Stalking and Target acquisitioning.
The award of the Best Sniper was awarded to Leading Aircraftman Perera MPGAS. The objectives of the training were to make potential snipers to operate as Range estimators, Target designator, Observer to Sniper and to be deployed as qualified Snipers in all forms of Defensive and Limited Offensive deployments of the Sri Lanka Air Force.
