The change of command of the SLAF Trade Training School at Ekala was carried out today with Handing Over/ Taking Over parade being conducted at the School Parade Square this morning (03 August 2021). The outgoing Commanding Officer, Air Commodore MPA Mahawattage USP, BSc (Def Stu) handed over the command to Group Captain DBV Weerasinghe USP, MDS, BSc (Def Stu), psc.

Air Commodore Mahawattage who commenced his tenure at Trade Training School on the 9th of September 2019 will be proceeding local training course shortly. He also steered the School amidst the pandemic situation in the country. During his final address, he expressed his gratitude to all service personnel for their constant cooperation.

The new Commanding Officer, Group Captain Weerasinghe previously commanded the Electronic and Telecommunication Wing at SLAF Base Katunayake before being appointed to command the SLAF Trade Training School at Ekala.
