SLAF SEVA VANITHA UNIT CONDUCTS BLOOD DONATION CAMPAIGN AT KATUANAYAKE

The SLAF Seva Vanitha Unit conducted a blood donation campaign yesterday (04 August 2021) at the Sports Arena of SLAF Base Katunayake in collaboration with the National Transfusion Service. The campaign was conducted under the guidance of the Chairperson of SLAF Seva Vanitha Unit, Mrs. Charmini Pathirana and with the assistance of Southern Air Commander and Base Commander of SLAF Base Katunayake, Air Vice Marshal Udeni Rajapaksa.
The main aim of this campaign was to make a donation to the National Blood Transfusion Service enabling them to cater for the heavy demand of blood products during the prevailing pandemic situation in the country.
The President of the Seva Vanitha Unit at SLAF Base Katunayake, Mrs. Enoka Rajapaksa, the Commanding Officer of the Hospital, Air Commodore Neeluka Abeysekera, Officers, Other Ranks and Civil Staff of SLAF Base Katunayake participated for the event. The event was held while adhering to health guidelines issued by the Ministry of Health for the prevention of COVID-19.
