SRI LANKA AIR FORCE HANDS OVER HHOT UNIT TO DISTRICT GENERAL HOSPITAL KALUTARA

The Sri Lanka Air Force handed over a Heated Humidified Oxygen Therapy Unit (HHOT) to District General Hospital in Kalutara yesterday (23 August 2021). The handing over was done by the Commanding Officer of SLAF Station Katukurunda, Air Commodore BAMP Balasuriya. The Director of District General Hospital at Kalutara, Dr. Pradeep Rathnasekara accepted the vital equipment on behalf of health authorities.
The Heated Humidified Oxygen Therapy Unit was manufactured by the General Engineering Wing at Katunayake together with the electronical design which was done by the Electronics and Telecommunications Wing at Ratmalana. According to Dr. Rathnasekara, this unit will be deployed at District General Hospital Kalutara where they will be used to treat patients with COVID-19.
Yesterday’s event was attended by Mr. Nadun Wijesekara who gave the financial assistance in making this event a success, a few Doctors from the Hospital, few Officers and Other Rankers from SLAF Station Katukurunda.
