SLAF RECEIVES GENEROUS DONATION TO BOOST HHOT PRODUCTION

The Sri Lanka Air Force received a very generous donation from the Sri Lanka Association USA (Midwest) this morning (21 September 2021) at Air Force Headquarters. The donations was made by Professor Ravin Kodikara the President of the Sri Lanka Association USA (Midwest). The Director Health Services of the SLAF, Air Vice Marshal (Dr) Lalith Jayaweera accepted the equipment donation of behalf of the Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Sudarshana Pathirana. This entire donation was coordinated by Mrs. Ayusha Amarakone, the Secretary of the Sri Lanka Association USA (Midwest). She was the driving force which made todays donation a reality there by providing valuable Medical Equipment to Sri Lanka.
The donation included vital electronic/electrical equipment worth Rs. 2 Million required by the Sri Lanka Air Force in the manufacturing of Heated Humidified Oxygen Therapy (HHOT) Units which are being used at many hospitals around the island to treat patients affected with COVID-19. Todays donation will enable the Sri Lanka Air Force to manufacture and provide more and more of these vital units to hospitals around the island.
The event was attended by Director of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering, Air Commodore Palitha Balasuriya, Acting Director General Engineering, Air Commodore Prasanna Ranasinghe and the Assistant Staff Officer (Technical) to the Commander, Wing Commander Erandha Geeganage and Flight Lieutenant Hiroshan Bandaranayake who is the Electronics Design Engineer of the Heated Humidified Oxygen Therapy (HHOT) Unit Development Project.
