The Sri Lanka Air Force handed over Heated Humidified Oxygen Therapy Units (HHOT) to government hospitals in Ampara, Badulla, Kalutara and Polgasowita. This meritorious task was carried out on the instructions of the Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Sudarshana Pathirana in order to be used in the treatment of patients effected by COVID-19.

In line with this a HHOT Unit was handed over to the Ampara General Hospital by the Commanding Officer of SLAF Station Ampara, Air Commodore Waruna Gunwardane. The financial assistance for the manufacture the Unit was provided by Dr. Asoka from Heal Sri Lanka.

Another HHOT Unit was handed over to the Badulla General Hospital by the Officer Commanding Training at the SLAF Combat Training School in Diyatalawa, Wing Commander Nirosh Senadheera. The financial assistance for the manufacture the Unit was provided by Mr. Rajith Tennekone, President of the Seth Sandana Meth Maga Samajasathkara Organisation in Nugegoda.

The Polgasowita (Wathara) District Hospital was also provided with a HHOT Unit by SLAF Base Ratmalana. Wing Commander (Dr.) Priyanga Rajapaksa made the presentation on behalf of the SLAF. The financial assistance for the manufacture the Unit was provided by Mrs. WRM Perera.

The Nagoda General Hospital in Kalutara was also provided with a HHOT Unit by SLAF Base Katukurunda. Squadron Leader Suranga Wanigarathne made the presentation on behalf of the SLAF. The financial assistance for the manufacture the Unit was provided by Mr. Navin Gunetilleke.

The Heated Humidified Oxygen Therapy Unit was manufactured by the General Engineering Wing at SLAF Katunayake together with the electronical design which was done by the Electronics and Telecommunications Wing at SLAF Ratmalana. Further, all events were held with adherences to COVID preventive health guidelines and was attended by few Officers and Other Ranks.
