NO.46 BASIC AIRBORNE COURSE CONCLUDES AT AMPARA

The badge awarding ceremony of the No. 46 Basic Airborne Course was held at the Drop Zone of SLAF Station Ampara yesterday (05 November 2021). The Deputy Chief of Staff of the Sri Lanka Air Force, Air Vice Marshal Andrew Wijesuriya graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.
The Commanding Officer of SLAF Station Ampara, Air Commodore Waruna Gunawardana, the Commanding Officer of Parachute Training School, Wing Commander Sumedha Ritigala, all Officers and Instructors were also present to witness the occasion.
A total of 33 basic paratroopers including 02 SLAF Officers, 17 Airmen, 03 Airwomen, an SL Army Officer, 03 SL Army soldiers, 02 SL Navy officer, 03 Navy sailors and 03 STF personnel received their insignia to mark the successful completion of the Basic Air Borne Training. Sergeant Maduwantha SAA (Special Forces – SL Army) was adjudged as the Best paratrooper of No. 46 Basic Airborne Course. The Deputy Chief of Staff addressed the qualified service personnel and congratulated them on the successful completion of the course and extended best wishes to their service lives. Air Force Sky diving team led by Wing Commander MTM Safrask added colour to the occasion with a colourful parachute jumping display.
