SLAF PARACHUTE TEAM DEPARTS FOR QATAR TO PARTICIPATE IN WORLD MILITARY PARACHUTE CHAMPIONSHIP

The 44th World Military Parachute Championship is scheduled to be held in Qatar this year. The Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Sudarshana Pathirana conveyed his best wishes to the parachutists who have been selected to represent Sri Lanka at this year’s championship. Four (04) SLAF parachutists have been selected this year and they are due to depart for Qatar today (17 November 2021).
The SLAF Parachute team is made up by Wing Commander Niroshan Ritigala, Sergeant Sampath Miriyagalla, Leading Aircraftwoman Hansika Madushani and Leading Aircraftwoman Chathurika Amarasinghe. Group Captain Anuruddha Wijesiriwardane will be the Officer in Charge of this team and Wing Commander Vijitha Gomez will be officiating as the Head Coach of the team.
