The 35th World Military Wrestling Championship is scheduled to be held in Tehran, Iran. This year four (04) wrestlers qualified to represent our nation. These players and officials are scheduled to leave the island today (18 November 2021). The Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Sudarshana Pathirana conveyed his best wishes to the participants and wished them all success during the games.

The SLAF Wrestling team is made up by Corporal Udara Fernando under 61 Kg weight category, Leading Aircraftman Lakmal Wijesuriya under 74 Kg weight category, Leading Aircraftman Nishan Walpita under 92 Kg weight category and Leading Aircraftman Ruwan Kalyana under 125 Kg weight category. These wrestlers will be competing from 19 November 2021 onwards.

Air Commodore Udula Wijesinghe, will be in charge of this team. Group Captain Erandika Gunawardena will be the Team Manager and Leading Aircraftman Wijesiri Fernando will be officiating as the Head Coach
