THE FIRST ALMSGIVING AT ‘SANDAHIRU SEYA’ TO MAHA SANGHA

The first ever alms-giving to Maha Sangha at Sandahiru Seya Vihara compound was held yesterday (19 November 2021) to commemorate the ceremonial unveiling of the ‘Sanda Hiru Seya’ and also the completion of two years of Presidency of His Excellency Gotabaya Rajapaksa. This religious event was attended by Commander of the Air Force Air Marshal Sudarshana Pathirana and Mrs. Charmini Pathirana.
The First Lady, Mrs Ioma Rajapaksa, Ministers and Parliamentarians, Secretary to the Ministry of Defence and his spouse, Commanders of Army and Navy and their spouses, Director General Civil Security Department, State officials and family members of fallen War Heroes were associated with this event.
All the participants began serving alms to the Maha Sangha after religious rituals were performed, along with the awarding of ‘Pirikara’, ‘Pan Wadeema’ and other rituals.
