7TH AVIATION CONTINGENT DEPART FOR THE CENTRAL AFRICAN REPUBLIC (MINUSCA)

The annual changing of personnel of the Sri Lanka Air Force (SLAF) Aviation Unit under the United Nations helicopter deployment in the Central African Republic (MINUSCA) departed the island during early hours today (30 November 2021).
The 7th contingent of 110 personnel comprised of 20 Officers and 90 Airmen departed for Central Africa from the Bandaranaike International Airport. Wing Commander Sampath Liyanarachchi will lead this Contingent as the Contingent Commander. This contingent also comprises of a Lady Officer for the first time in the history of SLAF UN Deployments. This Lady Officer is one of the Medical Officers deployed with this Contingent.
