Opening of the SLAF Pre-SchoolSLAF Station Ekala

The Pre School of SLAF Station Ekala was declared open by Mrs.Nelun Goonetileke, Chairperson of Seva Vanitha Unit SLAF on 1st December 2010 thus fulfilling a much needed requirement of this station.
SLAF Station Ekala which consists more than 2500 servicemen and out of which a majority of live out of camp while some occupy Married Quarters. Those occupying Married quarters have been facing severe problems in finding suitable Pre Schools for their children. This project was initiated by the Commanding Officer of SLAF Station Ekala Group Captain Janaka Amarasinghe to meet this special need of the Station personnel.
This Pre School was initially opened for studies with minimum resources on 3rd September 2010 with 18 children. As at present the number of students has exceeded 20 and more children are expected to be admitted in the year 2011.
