The National Industrial Excellence Awards Ceremony was held under the patronage of the president, His Excellency Gotabaya Rajapaksa at the Waters Edge in Battaramulla, on 15 February 2022.

The outstanding performers received the Platinum Award from the President at the Awards Ceremony for different industrial categories. A low cost utility vehicle invented as a Research and Development Project by SLAF was felicitated in the first ever Sri Lankan domestically assembled and manufactured vehicle parade which was organized by Industrial Development Board of Ceylon.
   
Command Research and Development Officer, Group Captain Chandimal Hettiarachchi , Commanding Officer Research and Development Wing SLAF Base Katunayake Group Captain Malitha Kumarage  and other senior officers participated for the event.
