SLAF SPORTS CLUB SNATCHES THE VICTORY DESPITE SINHALESE SPORTS CLUB’S EFFORTS

A new victory in the cricket Major Club Emerging 3 - Day Tournament, Group ‘A’ was set at Air Force Ground, Katunayake yesterday (27 February 2022) between Sri Lanka Air Force Sports Club and Sinhalese Sports Club (SSC). SLAF Sports Club, batting first, rattled up an astonishing won by an inning and 151 runs. An unbeaten double century by Movin Subasinghe and a match bag of ten wickets by Naddera Ishan helped Air Force to win the three day encounter with two sessions of play to spare.

Air Force opted to bat first on the home ground declared their first essay at 412 for nine with Movin Subasinghe registering an unbeaten 203 and Nadeera Ishan with a valuable 66. Movin unbeaten double ton was scored in 183 and consisted of 14 boundaries and 13 sixes.

Adding to their heroics with the bat Movin and Nadeera grabbed three wickets each to restrict SSC to 88 in 36.5 overs in their first essay. Following on Nadeera grabbed seven wickets while Movin captured two wickets to bowl Sinhalese Sports Club (SSC) out for 173 runs in 51.1 overs.
