SLAF COMMENCES 71ST ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATIONS WITH THE “PICHCHAMAL POOJA”

The Sri Lanka Air Force which is gearing up to celebrate its 71st Anniversary as the “Guardians of the Skies” conducted the “Pichcha Mal Pooja” at Kelaniya Raja Maha Viharaya for the fifth consecutive year. The event was organized under the auspices of the Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Sudarshana Pathirana this evening (1 March 2022) by SLAF Station Colombo, to invoke blessings to the SLAF personnel and the entire Air Force. The Chairperson of the SLAF Seva Vanitha Unit, Mrs. Charmini Pathirana also participated for the event.
Members of the Air Force Board of Management along with their spouses , Base Commanders and Commanding Officers, a cross section of Officers and Other Ranks from Air Force Headquarters and other Air Force establishments participated for the event. The event marks the beginning of the series of events lined up in view of the SLAF anniversary celebrations. The event was organized while adhering to strict health guidelines issued for the prevention of COVID-19.
