SLAF 21ST EDITION OF “PIYASARA” MAGAZINE AND 1ST EVER FLIP BOOK LAUNCH AT AIR FORCE HEADQUARTERS

The 21st edition of “Piyasara” magazine officially re-launched today (03 March 2022) at the Air Force Headquarters with the graceful presence of the Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Sudarshana Pathirana.
The magazine was designed and published by Directorate of Media quarterly until 2019 and discontinued due to the restriction imposed with the outbreak of pandemic. By breaking the period of silence, a tireless effort rendered by the Editorial Board which was headed by Director Health Services, Air Vice Marshal Lalith Jayaweera, Director Training, Air Commodore Bandu Edirisinghe, Command Flight Safety Officer, Group Captain Poojana Gunatileke, Director Media, Group Captain Dushan Wijesinghe and selected professional senior officers, Command Master Warrant Officer representing the other ranks of the SLAF as the members of the Editorial Board, reached the culmination, by making all realities possible with its 21st edition.
Following to the re-launching, Commander of the Air Force released the first ever E- publication or a Flip Book which created under the supervision of Director Information Technology, Air Commodore Arosha Vithana. The readers are able to log on through Air Force website and this is a significant mile stone which is intended to reach more readers without organizational cost.
The magazine was printed as a high quality publication by SLAF Printing Section at SLAF Trade Training School Ekala under the supervision of Wing Commander Danushka Thalaketiya.
The event was attended by Chief of Staff, members of the Air Force Board of management, Directors of Non Air Force Board Management, Commanding Officer SLAF Station Colombo, Senior Officers, Command Master Warrant Officer and few numbers of other ranks to witness the occasion.
