Sri Lanka Air Force Women’s Judo team emerged as the Overall Champions at the 56th National Novices Judo Championship 2022 worked off at the Mc Heyzer Indoor Stadium, Trincomalee from 18 March to 20 March 2022.

Trincomalee District Member of Parliament, Hon. Kapila Nuwan Athukorala graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. The event was attended by Secretary SLAF Judo, Group Captain MPA Galappaththi, Judo officials, Wing Commander MP Weerasinghe and Squadron Leader WRM Jayarathna to witness the occasion.

The SLAF Team participated in both men’s and women’s categories and women’s team became Overall Champions of the team event. SLAF women’s team bagged 2 Gold, 1 Silver and 7 Bronze medals with 16.5 total points whilst men’s team won 3 Bronze medals.
