WATER SALUTING CEREMONY FOR THE ARRIVAL OF MI 17 SH ARMED HELICOPTERS TO SLAF AVIATION UNIT AT CENTRAL AFRICAN REPUBLIC (MINUSCA)
9:15pm on Wednesday 13th April 2022
A traditional water saluting ceremony was held to mark the arrival of two MI 17 SH Armed version helicopters to SLAF Aviation Unit 7th Contingent at Central African Republic.

Dispatching of two Helicopters was taken place from Sri Lanka to Bangui in Central African Republic on 01 April 2022.  Subsequently aircraft assembling, ground runs and air tests were carried out at Bangui.  

Two helicopters were ferried to SLAF Aviation Contingent at Bria today (13 April 2022) upon successfully completion of UN induction procedure. A water saluting Ceremony was held to mark the newly arrived armed Helicopters to SLAF Aviation Contingent at MINUSCA.

The ceremony was attended by the Contingent Commander of No 07 Aviation Contingent Wing Commander PS Liyanarachchi, many dignitaries including Head of Office of Eastern Sector Headquarters Sector Commander, Brigadier General Syed Mohammad Shahed Rahman and many other key appointment holders.
