No.2 Mechanical Transport Repair and Overhaul Wing at SLAF Base Vavuniya celebrated its 8th anniversary today (28 April 2022) under the guidance of the Commanding Officer, Wing Commander KWB Sumanasekara.

The celebration commenced with the customary working parade which was reviewed by the Commanding Officer followed by a tree-planting programme within the Wing premises. After the event, a cricket tournament was organized with the participation of all the service and civil personnel at the Wing and trophies for the winning teams were awarded by the Base Commander of SLAF Base Vavuniya, Group Captain SAPT Piyarathne.

In line with the anniversary celebration, colour-washed a Pagoda at Parana Halmillewa Viharaya at Poonewa as a Community Service project and conducted religious programs at the Parana Halmillewa Viharaya and Pillaiyar Kovil.
