SLAF Seva Vanitha Unit held its Annual General Meeting at the AFHQ auditorium on 14 December, 2010 under the leadership of its Chairperson Mrs. Nelun Goonetileke.

The SLAF SVU Chairperson was Chief Guest at the occasion where members of the Seva Vanitha Unit Steering Committee presented the progress reports of the full range of projects conducted within the last year.  

The report included the advancement of several major projects handled by the dedicated workforce of the SLAF SVU such as Anula Fernando Housing Project, Seva Vanitha Garment factory Project, Medical Project and the extremely successful Preschool Project.

Another highlight of the AGM was the appointment of new members to the SVU Steering Committee. In addition, donations from SVU amounting to more than Rs. 1 million were distributed amongst SLAF personnel who were Disabled In Action. Serving members of SLAF and families of the SLAF personnel who were Killed In Action, sacrificing their lives for the motherland also received donation by the SVU.

The event was well attended by members of SVU representing all SLAF formation.
