33RD PHASE OF “GUWAN MITHUDAM” COMMUNITY PROJECT COMPLETED AT AHANGAMA

The 33rd phase of ‘Guwan Mithudam’ project was successfully concluded at the Korahedigoda Tsunami village, Ahangama yesterday (06 June 2022) by SLAF Station Koggala under the guidance of the Chairperson Seva Vaniha Unit, Mrs. Charmini Pathirana. The renovated water project was handed over to the residents of Korahedigoda Tsunami Village by Commanding Officer SLAF Station Koggala, Group Captain Thilina Rajapaksha.
The Karahedigoda community water project was kept abandoned due to unserviceable condition since 2008 and villagers had to face immense difficulties to fetch water to consume daily basis. SLAF Seva Vanitha Unit and SLAF Station Koggala made a collective effort in order to address this basic need. The particular renovation project has a capacity to facilitate water requirement of 35 underprivileged families.
This project was funded by the SLAF Seva Vanitha Unit and SLAF Station Koggala. The Commanding Officer, Divisional Secretary of Habaraduwa, Grama Niladhari of Korahedigoda area, a cross section of officers and other ranks of the SLAF Station Koggala and villagers participated to the occasion.
