The Mechanical & Electrical Engineering Wing at SLAF Base Katunayake, celebrated its 20th anniversary today (22 June 2022). This Wing was established to undertake all kinds of Electrical and Mechanical installations, repairing and maintenance of generators, air conditioner plants, cold rooms and other machinery within SLAF establishments.

The day’s celebration commenced with a special tree planting programme at the camp premises and was followed by a cricket tournament to boost the comradeship amongst service personnel at the formation. The overall celebration was organized by servicemen of the Wing under the guidance of the Commanding Officer Mechanical & Electrical Engineering Wing at SLAF Base Katunayake, Group Captain KMP Hewapathirana.
