The Change of Command at No 8 Tactical Transport Squadron , SLAF Base Ratmalana held yesterday (18 July 2022) where the Group Captain PN Gunathilake WWV and Bar, RWP, RSP, USP, MMS (Mil Com), MSc (Strat Stu), Pg Dip (Def Mgt), fawc, psc, qfi handed over the command to Wing Commander PDPP Dayananda RSP, Pg Dip (Def Mgt), psc, qfi. The traditional handing over taking over parade was conducted at the squadron premises with the participation of squadron personnel.

The outgoing Commanding Officer, Group Captain PN Gunathilake will be preceded as the Base Commander of SLAF Base Vavuniya. The newly appointed Commanding Officer, Wing Commander PDPP Dayananda previously held the appointment of Officer Commanding Operations of No 8 Tactical Transport Squadron.
