The Graduation Ceremony of No 70 Junior Command and Staff Course was held today (12 August 2022) at the Junior Command and Staff College Auditorium at the SLAF Academy China Bay. The Director Aeronautical Engineering, Air Vice Marshal Prasanna Ranasinghe graced the ceremony as the Chief Guest.

The ceremony marked the end of a 14 week long course attended by a total of 30 Officers out of which 28 Officers were from the SLAF in the rank of Squadron Leader and Flight Lieutenant, one Officer from Sri Lanka Navy and one officer from Zambian Air Force.

The Junior Command and Staff College is accredited to the General Sir John Kothalawala Defence University and the Officers who fulfill the required criteria will be offered a Post Graduate Diploma in Defence Management.

Addressing the ceremony, the Commanding Officer of the College, Group Captain Saman Dassanayake emphasized the importance of applying the knowledge gained for the betterment of the Air Force and the nation and also stressed that integrity is prominent for Officers of the Sri Lanka Air Force.
