The Directorate of Media conducted a blood donation programme today (18th August 2022) at Apeksha Hospital – Maharagama with the generous participation of all the service and civil personnel at the Directorate as an act of solidarity to save the lives of the needy. The solemn event was organized in line to the 14th anniversary of this Directorate under the approval by the Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Sudarshana Pathirana with the meticulous guidance provided by the Director Media, Group Captain Dushan Wijesinghe.

The Command Media Unit was initially established on 26th May 2008 and with the subsequent expansion, it was evolved as Directorate of Media.  However, due to the shifting circumstances in the country, the celebration was deferred. Nevertheless, owing to the dedication and generosity of all the personnel at this Directorate, the endeavour became a success today.
