SLAF Unit Mirigama held its first Children’s party followed by the Annual Get together on 21 December 2010 with a participation of children and the families of the Service personnel and civil staff.

    The Commanding Officer SLAF Mirigama, Group Captain Janaka Karunaratna graced the event as the Chief Guest. The Ceremony commenced with lighting of the traditional oil lamp by the Unit Commanding Officer, Officer Commanding Logistics, Station Warrant Officer and few other airmen and a civilians.

    The event was commenced in the morning with games for the Children of all ages respectively a number of entertainment events for children and families. The Children’s party celebrations drew to a close with the much anticipated arrival of Santa Clause who distributed presents to the children adding colour to the morning.

    The evening was filled with some spectacular activities for the participants both young and old, with a whole range, drama, dance and colourful fireworks. Musical accompaniment was by the SLAF Beat Group who added colour to the event with their performance and were joined by a dance troupe also from SLAF.
