The first meeting of the Defence Services Sports Board (DSSB) under the new presidency of the Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshall Sudarshana Pathirana for the year 2022/ 2023 was held at Air Force Headquarters today morning (01 September 2022). The Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Vikum Liyanage and Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Nishantha Ulugetenne also attended the meeting. Additionally, the event was attended by Director Sports SLAF, Air Commodore Senaka Fernandopulle, Director Sports SL Army, Brigadier Nalin Bandaranayake, Director Sports SL Navy, Commodore Roshan Athukorala, Secretary Air Force Sports Council, Group Captain Eranda Geeganage and Treasurer Air Force Sports Council, Wing Commander Nandika Hureegolla.

The Defence Services Sports Board Presidency rotates among the Tri Services and the SLAF hosts the Chairmanship for the year 2022/2023.
