Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Sudarshana Pathirana made an official visit to SLAF Base Vavuniya yesterday (04 September 2022).  The Commander was accompanied by Acting Base Commander, Wing Commander Nushan Rajapaksa. The Commander visited the No.02 Air Defence Radar Squadron and Officers’ Mess to review the standards maintained and the progress of the development of each formation at the Base. Especially, Commander made a close observation at the Airmen’s Mess with a view to assure the quantity, quality and nutritional standards of the foods which are being provided to the airmen and airwomen.

Finally, the Commander interviewed a cross-section of service and civil personnel with the intention to look over the matters on welfare, working environment, infrastructure facilities and quality of life before concluding the formal visiting session.
