The Inter Unit Carrom Championship - 2022 was held at SLAF Health Management Centre yesterday (23 September 2022). The awarding ceremony took place at the same venue with the graceful presence by Director Welfare of SLAF, Air Vice Marshal Hemantha Soysa as the Chief Guest.

The tournament conducted in to two segments and 10 women’s teams and 19 men’s teams competed at the Championship. Technical Formation team of SLAF Base Katunayake titled as Men’s Champions for the year 2022 whilst SLAF Station Morawewa emerged as Runners up. In the Women’s category SLAF Combat Training School Diyatalawa won the Championship and SLAF Base Vauniya turn into Runners up.

Sergeant Dilshani GYGM representing SLAF Combat Training School Diyatalawa and Corporal Senevirathne KHGJU representing SLAF Station Morawewa were awarded as the Best Players in the Women’s and Men’s categories at the tournament respectively.

The event was attended by Base Commander SLAF Base Katunayake, Air Vice Marshal Lasitha Sumanaweera, Director Sports of SLAF Air Commodore Senaka Fernandopulle, Commanding Officer SLAF Combat Training School Diyatalawa, Group Captain Vajira Senadheera, Secretary Air Force Sports Council Group Captain Eranda Geeganage, Chairman SLAF Carrom, Group Captain Nalaka Nugegoda, members of the Air Force Sports Council and members of Sri Lanka Carrom Federation.
