The Inter Unit Cycling Championship for the year 2022 was successfully concluded at SLAF Station Katukurunda on the 10th and 11th of October 2022 after a lapse of two years. The Championship was held under two main categories as Individual Time Trial for men and women categories and Criterion Race for both categories to select the best Sporting Unit in Cycling.

The flagship event of the Championship, the Men’s Criterion Race was conducted on 11th October 2022 in front of a large crowd of spectators. SLAF Academy China Bay won the Team Championship in the Men’s Category while the SLAF Station Colombo emerged as Runners Up. Supply & Maintenance Depot SLAF Base Katunayake gained the Team Championship in the Women’s category while the SLAF Academy China Bay secured the Runners Up.

Director Health Services and Member of Air Force Sports Council Advisory Committee Air Vice Marshal (Dr) Lalith Jayaweera, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Chairman SLAF Cycling Air Vice Marshal Lasitha Sumanaweera, Director Sports of SLAF, Air Commodore SN Fernandopulle and Members of the Air Force Sports Council also present at the occasion.
