ANNUAL ORAL HEALTH AND MEDICAL PROGRAMME AT THE TEMPLE OF SACRED TOOTH IN KANDY

Under the Guidance
of the Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Sudarshana Pathirana and
the supervision of Director Health Services, Air Vice Marshal (Dr.) LR
Jayaweera, the annual Medical and Oral Health Care Programme for the
Maha Sanga and the Staff of Sri Dalada Maligawa was conducted by the Sri
Lanka Air Force yesterday (21 October 2022) at the Temple of the Sacred
Tooth in Kandy in collaboration with the Kandy General
Hospital/Teaching Hospital Peradeniya with the participation of 9
Consultants, 11 Medical Officers, 7 Dental Surgeons and 130 Medical
Staff.
The opening ceremony was conducted with the blessings of Maha Vihara Vasi Shamopali Maha Nikaye Asgiri Chapter Anunayaka Mahanuwara Gedige Rajamaha Viharadipathi Most Venerable Wedaruwe Sri Upali Anunayake Thero, Chief Custodian of the Sri Dalada Maligawa Dr. Pradeep Nilanga Dela and participation of Director Health Services, Air Vice Marshal LR Jayaweera, Director Welfare, Air Vice Marshal CHR Soysa and other officials
Over five hundred Buddhist Monks and Civilians were treated with Advanced Medical Equipment and Mobile Dental Equipment and were provided free consultation and check-ups with the specialists and general practitioners, free medicines, laboratory investigations, eye examinations, Electrocardiography (ECG) facilities, dental services and many more services. This is the fifth occasion SLAF conducted a Medical Campaign at Dalada Maligawa in addition to the oral health care programme which was participated by leading consultants.
The clinic was conducted under the supervision of Commanding Officer of SLAF Hospital Colombo, Group Captain (Dr.) PAV Padmaperuma as the Medical Coordinator and Group Captain (Dr.) P Dissanayake as the Dental coordinator.
