THE INAUGURAL EAGLES’ QUADRANGLE CUP CONCLUDES AT SPECTACULAR EAGLES’ GOLF LINKS IN CHINA BAY

The Sri Lanka Air Force and the Eagles’ Golf Links and Courses hosted the inaugural Eagles’ Quadrangle Cup, an inter-club golf tournament that was concluded today (05 November 2022) in the spectacular settings of China Bay, the closest to the harbour city of Trincomalee. The Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Sudarshana Pathirana graced the tournament as the Chief Guest and he was accompanied by Mrs. Charmini Pathirana as well. The tournament was powered by SLT Mobitel as the Exclusive Main Sponsor which made it much more glamorous and memorable for the participants.
Eagles’ Golf Link, Royal Colombo Golf Club, Victoria Golf Resort and Nuwara Eliya Golf Club played for honours with each team consisting of 15 players inclusive of a minimum of two Ladies in each team. And top ten scores from each team had been considered for the final count. The Commander participated in the First Tee Off signifying the start of the tournament.
Air Force Eagles’ Golf Links team which was captained by Air Vice Marshal Prasanna Ranasinghe won the Eagles’ Quadrangle Cup trophy, securing the highest marks in the entire tournament. Mr. Prabath Gamage and Mr. Michael Sathasivum received the awards for the Longest Drive and the Nearest to the Pin in the Gents’ Category while Ms. Dhanushi Senadeera took the honours for the Longest Drive in the Ladies’ Category. The award for the Best Overall Score in the Gents’ Category was secured by Mr. Tharindu Wickramasinghe and in the Ladies’ Category clinched by Ms. Manori Jayakodi.
The awards of the first inter-club Eagles’ Quadrangle Cup were given away at a festivity Awards Ceremony held at the same venue during the today afternoon. The Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Sudarshana Pathirana graced the Awards Ceremony as the Chief Guest together with his lady Mrs. Charmini Pathirana. A special token of appreciation and souvenirs were presented by the Commander to Mr. Chandika Vitharana the Chief Executive Officer of Mobitel (Pvt) Limited and Team Captains of Golf Teams competed.
All participants of the tournament departed with a load of fun-filled memories from this year’s maiden inter-club Eagles’ Quadrangle Cup Golf Tournament.
