National Novices Weightlifting Championship - 2022 was concluded yesterday (13 November 2022) at the Poddiwela National School, Polonnaruwa. Mayor of Polonnaruwa, Hon. Chanaka Sidath Ranasinghe graced the event as the Chief Guest.

The SLAF Weightlifters bagged 04 Gold and 04 Bronze medals at the championship. Leading Aircraftman Jayasena URR competed under 81 kg Weight Category established a New Sri Lankan record in Snatch category lifting 138 kg.
