SLAF STATION KATUKURUNDA CELEBRATES 38TH ANNIVERSARRY

SLAF Station Katukurunda celebrated its 38th anniversary today (16 November 2022). A series of events and community service projects were conducted inline with the anniversary celebration under the guidance of the Commanding Officer SLAF Station Katukurunda, Group Captain Asitha Hettiarachchi together with all officers, other ranks and the civilian staff.
The celebration commenced with the customary working parade which was reviewed by Commanding Officer. Subsequently, a cricket tournament was organized at the Station playground and the day’s proceedings were concluded with all ranks lunch.
Inline with the celebration renovation of the playground at “Kalutara Technical College”, a Shramadana Campaign at “Kalutara Thapowanaya Temple”, colour washing of the Operation Theater Buildings of Teaching Hospital Kaluthara and revamping the store building roof of the hospital were conducted. Further, “Mee and Jackfruit Saplings” planting and distribution programme was conducted at the Dodangoda area paddy fields with the assistance of local farmers. Also a blood donation programme was conducted at the camp premises on 14th November 2022.
