Four (04) captain pilots and selected air gunner personnel who are entitled to perform operational duties undertook an air-to-ground range firing session with the support of No.7 Helicopter Squadron at SLAF Base Hingurakgoda, employing Bell-212 helicopters with forward and side-firing guns. The range firing was conducted on the 14th and 15th of November 2022 at the SLAF Air-to-Ground Firing Range, Kalpitiya.

The range firing was attended by Wing Commander Kanchana Liyanarachchi, Wing Commander Senaka Kooragamuwa, Wing Commander Lakshitha Kolambage and Squadron Leader Nilanga Guneratne. Group Captain Sanoj Jayaratne performed as the Overall Commander of the session whilst Squadron Leader Eranda Bambarande executed as the instructor in the whole sorties.
