NO.49 CHEMICAL, BIOLOGICAL, NUCLEAR, EXPLOSIVE (CBRNE) WING CELEBRATES 3RD ANNIVERSARY

The No. 49 Chemical, Biological, Nuclear, Explosive Device (CBRNE) Wing at SLAF Base Katunayake celebrated its 3rd anniversary on 27 November 2022.
The celebrations commenced with the traditional working parade which was reviewed by the Commanding Officer, Wing Commander NP Perera followed by a address to all ranks of the wing. The Commanding Officer highly appreciated the tireless effort of the CBRNE First Responders toward the disinfection operations against COVID-19 Pandemic.
Subsequently, a cricket tournament was organized to expand comradeship among all ranks. The Southern Air Commander and Base Commander SLAF Base Katunayake, Air Vice Marshal LH Sumanaweera graced the event as the chief guest.
In line with the anniversary, the Wing conducted a series of community service projects and religious activities including a ‘Shramadana’ campaign at Ranpokunugama Temple from 15 to 18 November 2022.
