The NCO Management School at SLAF Academy China Bay conducted the Certificate Awarding Ceremony of the No. 18 English Medium and No. 89 Sinhala Medium Non Commissioned Officers’ Management Courses on 30 December 2022 under the patronage of the Chief Air Traffic Control Officer of the Directorate of Air Operations, Air Commodore OANS Fernando as the Chief Guest. The Chief Guest was received by the Commanding Officer of the NCO Management School, Wing Commander RND Senadheera.

The primary objective of conducting this course is to transfer a sound academic and managerial knowledge and sharpening leadership qualities within the Non Commissioned Officers of the Tri-Forces. The course was encapsulated with a well-formed syllabus over a scheduled period of 14 weeks. Both courses were affiliated to the University of Rajarata and all Non Commissioned Officers who fulfilled the required criteria were awarded with a Certificate in Management.

The No. 18 English Medium and No. 89 Sinhala Medium comprised of 60 Senior Non Commissioned Officers, 81 Junior Non Commissioned Officers from the SLAF, one Senior Non Commissioned Officer from the SL Navy, three Junior Non Commissioned Officers from SL Army. At the Ceremony 145 awardees received certificates to mark the successful completion of the courses.

Flight Sergeant Kumara KWGPM (Telecommunication Technician) and Corporal Ranga HC (Dental Technician I) were awarded as the Best All-Round Senior and Junior Non Commissioned Officers of the No. 18 English Medium, while Flight Sergeant Gamini PHA (Operations Ground) and Corporal Fernando RAJSM (Police) were awarded as the Best All-Round Senior and Junior Non Commissioned Officers of the No.88 Sinhala Medium Course.
