The Change of Command at the No.01 Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering Wing, SLAF Base Katunayake was held today (17 January 2023). The traditional Handing Over/Taking Over parade was conducted at the Wing premises where the outgoing Commanding Officer, Group Captain LAD Prasanna MSc (Def & Strat Stu), BSc (Eng), Pg Dip (Def Mgt), Pg Dip (Aero Eng - Elect), AMIE (SL), psc handed over the command to Wing Commander MAS Heshal USP, MSc (Def & Strat Stu), psc.

The outgoing Commanding Officer took over the Command on 13 September 2021 and will take over the appointment of Commanding Officer, Radar Maintenance Wing at SLAF Base Katunayake subsequently.

The new Commanding Officer, Wing Commander Heshal previously held the appointment of the Staff Officer II (Avionics) at the Directorate of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering, Air Force Headquarters before being appointed as the Commanding Officer.
