10TH ANNIVERSARY OF COMMANDER’S CUP GOLF TOURNAMENT EXTENDS MANY SERVICES TO THE COMMUNITY

In line with the 10th anniversary of the Commander’s Cup Golf Tournament, under the direction of the Commander of the Sri Lanka Air Force, Air Marshal Sudarshana Pathirana, the Group Chief Executive Officer of Dialog Axiata PLC and E-Wis Company launched and successfully completed a community service project for under-developed schools in the Trincomalee area.
This programme aimed to aid the communities in need by facilitating the education of the students in the vicinity of Trincomalee. The Information Technology Laboratories of Trincomalee Girls' High School, Nalanda Vidyalaya China Bay, and Ravaneshwaran Tamil School Kanniya were renovated and upgraded with new technological equipment and handed over to the schools yesterday (20 January 2023).
The ceremony was attended by the Commandant SLAF Academy China Bay, Air Commodore SDGM Silva, Group Chief Officer of the Dialog Enterprise Mr. Navin Peiris, officials from Dialog Axiata PLC and E-wis Company. Within this endeavor, nine new computers were donated, and 41 computers available in three schools were repaired. Each lab was equipped further with new Internet facilities, which will be free of charge for a year. Additionally, a 54-inch television was donated to the Girls' High School in Trincomalee.
The program was initiated with the idea of refining the quality of the lives of these communities as a gesture of honoring the responsibility that the conscientious organizations in the country holds.
