SLAF Continues the Flow of Relif Aid to Flood Affected Areas

Today (January 13, 2011), the Sri Lanka Air Force aiding in the flood relief efforts delivered a large consignment of essential dry rations to various affected areas of the eastern province.

SLAF utilized Mi-17 Helicopters of the 6 Squadron and Bell-212 Helicopters of the 7 Squadron for relief distribution whilst using AN-32 Transport Aircrafts of the No.2 Heavy Transport Squadron to air lift the much needed relief items from Colombo.

During the course of the day, SLAF was able to distribute over 6 Tons of Government aid and Public donations to the people of the affected areas. The quantity of the aid included Rice, Biscuits, Sugar, Milk Powder, Dhal and other essential items.

1038 KG of Buns & Pastry Items to Batticaloa
800 KG of Dry Rations to Serunuwara
1800 KG of Dry Rations to Kallaru
1783 KG of Dry Rations to Kallaru
750 KG of Dry Rations to Kallaru
