The Change of Command at the Aircraft Spares Depot, SLAF Base Katunayake was held today (23 January 2023). The traditional Handing Over/Taking Over parade was conducted at the Depot premises where the outgoing Acting Commanding Officer, Wing Commander JADS Niranga handed over the command to Group Captain BS De S Weerawardena USP,BSc (Def Stu).

The outgoing Acting Commanding Officer took over the Command on 31 December 2022 and will take over the appointment of Chief Equipment Officer, Aircraft Spares Depot at SLAF Base Katunayake subsequently.

The new Commanding Officer, Group Captain BS De S Weerawardena USP,BSc (Def Stu)  previously held the appointment of the Commanding Officer Equipment Provisioning and Accounting Unit at SLAF Base Katunayake.
