SLAF Station Bandaranaike International Airport proudly celebrated its 25th anniversary yesterday (26 January 2023) together with all officers, other ranks and the civil staff under the guidance of the Commanding Officer, Air Commodore SC Wijayanayake.

The day’s proceedings ensued with the customary working parade, which was reviewed by the acting Commanding Officer, Group Captain WMA Kumarasiri. In his remarks, the acting Commanding Officer emphasized the significance of the Station as the main security provider to the Bandaranaike International Airport over the past 24 years.

In line to the celebration, all the personnel of the Station organized a blood donation programme and also conducted Shramadana campaigns at Kimbulapitiya School and the Kimbulapitaya town area on 23 and 24 January 2023, respectively. The anniversary celebration was concluded with a friendly cricket tournament with the participation of all service and civil staff, followed by an all ranks lunch.
