Sri Lanka Air Force Unit BIA has celebrated Unit Day on 12 Jan 2011.This Unit has situated at the Bandaranayke International Airport on 12th January 1998 under command Air Cmdr MLK Perera USP.

The Social events were held began one day prior to the anniversary on 11 Jan 2011 with Shramadana campaign conducted at the st Joseph Home for Adults, Home for Children Unnaruwa, Home for Children Yatiyana and Wijaya kumarathunga memorial Hospital Seeduwa. Breakfast and Lunch have arranged for adults and Children on the day.
 
The unit day celebration with a working parade held at the unit parade square and the parade was inspected by the commanding officer of SLAF Unit BIA Group Captain Peiterson Fernando.

This was followed by a tree planting campaign and organizing games have been done participating members representing all sectors at BIA. The day’s proceeding on a note of fellowship with an all ranks Lunch
