Outgoing Navy Commander Visits SLAF Headquarters

A Guard of Honour was accorded to Commander of the Sri Lanka Navy Admiral TSG Samarasinghe, at Sri Lanka Air Force (SLAF) Headquarters this morning (14 January, 2011), to mark his official retirement.

The Guard of Honour was conferred by the Colour Squadron of SLAF and was commanded by Flight Lieutenant Prasad Kulathunga. After the inspection of the parade, the Commanders were received by Chief of Defence Staff and Commander of the Air Force, Air Chief Marshal Roshan Goonetileke, Commanding Officer of SLAF Colombo; Air Commodore Vijitha Gunarathne and several other Officers attached to SLAF Headquarters.

Official plaques were exchanged between the two commanders at the Commander’s Office after which Admiral Samarasinghe met with the Chief of Staff, Deputy Chief of Staff and the Board of Management of SLAF.
