NO 01 INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY WING AT RATMALANA CELEBRATES 10TH ANNIVERSARY

The No. 01 Information Technology Wing (No. 01 ITW) at SLAF Base Ratmalana proudly celebrated its 10th anniversary yesterday (10 March 2023). The celebration commenced with the customary working parade, which was reviewed by the Commanding Officer, Wing Commander API Sampath Kumara.
The decade of excellent service by No. 01 ITW was celebrated with a series of community service projects. All the men and women at the Wing conducted a beach clean-up at the picturesque Mount Lavinia beach to preserve the coastline environment.
In addition, a blood donation campaign was executed in cooperation with the Kotelawala Defence University Hospital, encouraging individuals to become regular donors to fulfill the social need. Apart from that, a Bodhi Pooja event took place at the ancient Mallikaramaya temple Ratmalana with the participation of IT Wing personnel. Moreover, a cricket tournament was organized by the wing personnel to keep up the team spirit and brotherhood among servicemen.

Incumbent acting Director General who overlooks the responsibilities at the Directorate of Electronics and Information Technology Engineering, Air Vice Marshal MJR Perera, Deputy Director of Information Technology Engineering, Air Commodore PN Fernando and the Base Commander of SLAF Base Ratmalana, Air Commodore WPAH Perera, attended the event.
