The annual “Jaya Pirith” reverberated on 20 May 2023 at the Sandahiru Seya premises under the patronage of the State Minister of Defence, Hon. Premitha Bandara Tennakoon which was coordinated by Ministry of Defence with the cooperation of Tri Forces.

The opening sermon and the Anushasana (religious oration) presided by Ven. Ralapanave Dhammajothi Nayaka thero. The religious proceedings were led by Most Ven. Pallegama Hemarathanabhidana Nayaka Thero in the presence of Ven. Ralapanave Dhammajothi Nayaka Thero and Ven. Welihene Sobitha Nayaka Thero.

The solemn event was attended by Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Sudarshana Pathirana, Director General of the Civil Security Department, Secretary to the Ministry of Defence, Chief of Defence Staff, Commanders of Army and Navy, Inspector General of Police, Government Officials, Military Officers and family members of fallen war heroes.

Subsequently, the proceeding was concluded yesterday morning (21 May 2023) according an almsgiving to the Venerable Maha Sangha in the same premises. The Chief of Staff of the SLAF, Air Vice Marshal Udeni Rajapaksa attended the esteemed event.
