The Inter Unit Kabaddi Championship 2023 was held at the Gymnasium at SLAF Base Katunayake yesterday (24 May 2023). The awarding ceremony took place at the same venue with the graceful presence of the Director General General Engineering, Air Vice Marshal KGDN Jayasinghe, as the Chief Guest.

Both the Men’s and Women’s Championships were secured by SLAF Station Colombo. SLAF Base Hingurakgoda and SLAF Academy Chinabay emerged as Men’s and Women’s runners-up, respectively. Sergeant Pushpakumara WM from SLAF Station Colombo and Aircraftwoman Gunarathna, who represented SLAF Station Colombo, received the awards for Best Male and Best Female Player titles during the Championship, respectively.

Acting Base Commander SLAF Base Katunayake, Chairman SLAF Kabaddi, Air Commodore PN Fernando, Member of the Air Force Sports Council and other invitees participated to witness the Finals and Awarding Ceremony.
