REGIMENT SPECIAL FORCE CONDUCTS QUICK REACTION TEAM (QRT) TRAINING FOR FOREIGN AND REGIMENT PERSONNEL

The Regiment Special Forces Training School (RSFTS) at SLAF Station Morawewa conducted the No. 66 Quick Reaction Team Training Course for 38 Operations Ground personnel, including a foreign trainee, Captain Andrew Munengo from the Zambian Air Force, from 25 April 2023 to 25 May 2023. The Regiment Special Forces Training School is the prime training institute for specialized training related to Air Base Defence, Special Operations and Search and Rescue Operations.  
    
Quick Reaction Team Training is designed to achieve professionalism concerning physical training, endurance training, weapon training containing advanced weapon training and live firing exercises, military tactics including real-time situational exercises and land navigation comprising GPS handling and map march to execute future Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Response (HADR) Operations. The trainees were educated and practiced contemporary warfare through the real-time situational exercises conducted during the course.  

The training course was conducted under the supervision of the Commanding Officer of the Regiment Special Forces, Wing Commander Sumith Bandara, who led the training programme under the guidance and direct supervision of Director General Ground Operations, Air Vice Marshal Waruna Gunawardana and Director General Training, Air Vice Marshal Bandu Edirisinghe.

The Closing Ceremony and Certificate Awarding of the Course were conducted on 25 May 2023, under the patronage of the Commanding Officer of the Regiment Special Forces, Wing Commander Sumith Bandara, at SLAF Station Morawewa.
