The INTER UNIT DRILL COMPETITION - 2009 a yet another exiting feature in the SLAF annual calendar, was held during the past week and the finals were worked out today (01 September 2009) at the SLAF Base Katunayaka parade square.

All SLAF stations located around the country competed in this event in which SLAF Base Katunayaka, SLAF Batticalo, Special Operations Group Trincomalee were selected for the finals. However the panel of judges who were vested upon the difficult task of selecting the best drill flight, finally with much struggle chose SLAF Base Katunayake, Commanded by Flying Officer SDS Sikuradhipathi as the winners.

A Band Competition was also witnessed at this event and again SLAF Base Katunayake was judged winners.

The Commander of the Air Force Air Chief Marshal Roshan Goonatilake graced the occasion as the guest of honour whilst Members of the SLAF board of management and several other senior Air Force officer were among the other guests.
